What TrackerTracker does

TrackerTracker is a Chrome browser extension that detects third-party trackers on websites you visit, lets you block them selectively or all at once, and auto-declines cookie consent banners on your behalf.

Data we collect

None. TrackerTracker does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything the extension does happens locally on your device.

What the extension accesses and why

• URLs of pages you visit - used locally to detect which trackers are present on the current page. This information is never sent anywhere.
• Network requests - inspected locally via Chrome's declarativeNetRequest and webRequest APIs to identify and optionally block tracker domains. No request data leaves your device.
• Tab information - used to associate tracker counts with the correct browser tab. Not stored or transmitted.
• Extension storage - your blocking preferences and UI settings (e.g. light/dark mode) are saved locally in Chrome's extension storage. This data stays on your device.
• Page content (scripting) - a content script runs on pages you visit to detect and dismiss cookie consent banners. It does not read or exfiltrate page content.

Third-party data

The extension bundles a local copy of the Ghostery TrackerDB tracker database (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This database is stored inside the extension package - no external servers are contacted at runtime.

No external servers

TrackerTracker makes no network requests of its own. It does not "phone home," send analytics, or contact any remote API.

Children's privacy

TrackerTracker does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy practices change in a meaningful way, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date will change.
